
Dr Jade McGlynn is a Fellow at the Centre for Statecraft and National Security (CSNS) and a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellow at the Department of War Studies. Her research since 2014 has focused on Russia’s war against Ukraine, particularly through the lenses of identity, propaganda, and memory. She is currently conducting in-depth research on Russian occupation policies and Ukrainian resistance in temporarily occupied territories.
McGlynn is the author of Memory Makers: The Politics of the Past in Putin’s Russia (Bloomsbury, 2023) and Russia’s War (Polity, 2023), as well as numerous scholarly and journalistic articles. She holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford, where her doctoral thesis explored the reconstruction of Russian identity from 2012 to 2018.
